Brentwood South Labour Councillors Gareth Barrett and Dr Tim Barrett will be running for re-election this May, alongside Elizabeth Jerrard, to continue delivering for local residents.

The team helped break ground on Brentwood’s largest affordable housing programme in a generation, secured the investment in the Baytree Centre while working to improve the plans to benefit local residents. Proposed Brentwood’s first climate change target alongside leading on schemes to reduce the Council’s carbon emissions and investments in protecting our natural environment.

Cllr Gareth Barrett said: “Having has the honour of being in my tenth year as your representative in Brentwood South, I am proud of our work helping residents, making sure we focus on value for money in these tough times.”

Cllr Dr Tim Barrett added: “Having served for five years I know there is still much more to do – we need to steer the Council in the right direction and I together we can make it happen.”

Liz Jerrard commented: “Keeping Brentwood South Labour will make a real difference for the town and allowus to continue to deliver for local people.”

Dr Gareth Barrett was brought up in Brentwood, attending St Peter’s South Weald and what was then the Hedley Walter High School before University. He has served as a Brentwood South Councillor for almost a decade. He works as a communications director in London and is currently Brentwood’s Mayor.

Dr Tim Barrett, was most recently re-elected just last year in Brentwood South; a lifelong Brentwood resident, he also attended St Peter’s and Hedley Walter before studying at Imperial College London. He works as clinical researcher into new cancer treatments and is currently serving as Chair of Brentwood’s Housing, Health and Community Committee.

Elizabeth Jerrard is a long-term Brentwood resident and keen community campaigner. She works as a software project manager, and you can find her as a regular participant in Brentwood’s Parkrun.
